The Basic good-hearted advice

Book of Trolls is a labour of love, a life time project that Michael Stenmark always wanted to bring to the world be read. It´s a comic. Nothing more. There are topics and things going on in this world that is really worth fighting for and about, keep that in mind. This is just a comic, a labour of love.

1. Be nice

Be nice to each other.
Don´t throw away precious time on bad behaviour.
We only live once*.

Life is, from a cosmic view point, very short.
We are born, we live and then we once more become the stuff of cosmos.
Don’t waste your good energy on being bad.
Don´t waste your good energy on making enemy’s and make them hate you.
Why? Cause it is a waste of time when you could have done so much more.
It’s time that you could have used to fulfil dreams, to set up goals that is really rewarding to You and to Others, to hang out with friends or to read a good book. Or why just not take the opportunity to travel around our blue and green planet. It is an amazing world out there.

Life is, as we see it, a great amount of fantastic opportunities. Use it as good as you possible can. You can do it!

*Unless you belong to some more mystical beliefs, then you might have more than one life. But honestly, we don’t know anything about that, and still, be nice in this life.

2. Make yourself remembered as a pleasant person

Think of what you leave behind and what people will remember of you.
You can yourself mould the picture of yourself in the eyes of the beholder. It is within your own power to act good. The world will remember you based on who you are, by your acts and behaviour, thoughts and way of living.

Choose Your Words Wisely. Comments that contain profanity are automatically held for moderator review before being posted. Depending on the context of the comment, it may be removed. Profanity used to insult, antagonise, or inflame will always be removed.

So be nice. Internet remembers. What we say and do in life is our legacy. What we post and do on internet stays on the internet. Internet never forgets, and everything can be googled for years and years ahead. Think nice, act nice and leave a nice legacy.
It’s better to create a good day than a bad day.

  1. Create a great conversation

Choose a topic and dedicate yourself to it. If making a comment, take your time, we all enjoy the words and thoughts You bring to the discussions. If you can, please explain why you like or have an opinion about the subject so we can better understand and engage in the topic. This channel is to have discussions about Book of Trolls and its universe, if you simply post a “Wow!” or “Bad!”, that doesn’t leave any room for a discussion. The more you share with us, the more we will share with you. Have fun and have a good time here.

  1. Be yourself – don’t copy and paste

If you didn’t write it, or haven’t properly cited the article you’re quoting, don’t post it.

Don’t copy and paste from your blog or someone else’s blog/news source. This is an arena for self-expression, tell us what your thoughts are and why! Tell us how the comic, the universe of Book of Trolls or subjects related to that makes you feel. Give us a topic that makes us reflect.

  1. No self-promotion or promotion of things not related to Books of Trolls

A discussion or comment that contains only a link to your blog, a product, or your article on another site will almost always be removed. This goes for pure adds or other forms of promotion to.

  1. Don’t argue, be nice

If you don’t agree with other members answer or response, do not, we repeat, do not start an argument within the comments section. Everyone is allowed an opinion. If you and another person does not agree or have the same opinion does not make you nor them any less of a person. Be mindful of what you say and respect those opinions. This is a place for sharing, not judging. Be nice.

  1. Have fun, be kind. The Book of Trolls is a work of love. Really it is. This is about the comic and everything related to the comic.
Hate or bad manner is not something that belongs on this channel.
Please, be nice and have fun. Try to come on here with an open mind and let others have an opinion, even if you do not agree with them.

In other words, do not make personal attacks against another commenter or the writer of the post/website. This can run from name calling to sentences which include the words “people like you” or statements which begin “I bet you” or “you must/probably” etc. This is regardless of what “side” you’re on.

Please don’t make jokes or aggressive negative comments on the aesthetic appearance of a person (commenters, writers, and folks mentioned in an article alike).

We want you to have fun, hence we don’t allow hate speech or other clearly intentional un-nice behaviour. This includes but is not limited to: the use of the word feminazi or a comment which denigrates humans, belief’s, women, feminism or feminists, gay people and the whole spectra of rainbow people, broad imprecations or assumptions based on race.

If you’re having a disagreement with another user and your replies have gone into the double digits, consider stepping back from the computer for a while. We love discussion, but we don’t want users running themselves ragged trying to convince someone else online they’re wrong. Spend the day on creating a good day, good things and good deeds. Be nice.

  1. Read, take it in, then writeAs a friendly good advice, always strive to add value to every interaction and discussion you participate in. Before joining in a discussion, browse through some of the most recent and active discussions happening in the community, especially if you’re new there. Somebody might already have posted thoughts that goes in line with your own and gotten answers. Add to that or find a new interesting topic. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.
  2. If you see something, say something

Moderators are nice people, taking parts of their free time to help us keeping the conversations just perfectly nice. Show them love and respect.
Hence they are at the forefront of combatting spam, mediating disputes and enforcing community guidelines and, so are you. If you see an issue, contact the moderators if possible or flag any comments for review. If you believe someone has violated the Basic Rules, report it to Disqus by flagging the user’s profile.
Be nice and help out each other and the moderators.

  1. English Only

We only use English for our conversations at Book of Trolls.

That is due to the fact that the Disqus service currently only support English-only discussions on the Disqus channels. Non-English comments and discussions will be removed.
But don’t be sad. English is a great language (we know as we are Swedish and did learn this language by traveling, music, film and reading comics). And its full of great words.
The Second Edition of the 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary contains full entries for 171,476 words in current use, and 47,156 obsolete words. To this just great. English is a great language for conversations! Keep on talking – in English!
